Technique

Stand with feet hip-width apart. Leap laterally to one side, landing on one foot while sweeping the other foot behind your body. Swing your arms across your body for balance. Immediately leap to the other side, alternating legs in a continuous motion.

Starting Position

Stand tall with feet hip-width apart, arms at your sides, knees slightly bent.

Finishing Position

Land on one foot with the opposite leg extended behind, torso slightly forward, and arms swung across the body for balance.

Form Cues

Land softly, keep your chest up, push off explosively, maintain a slight forward lean, use your arms for balance

Common Mistakes

Landing stiff-legged, letting the knee collapse inward, losing balance, not using arms for momentum, rushing the movement

Progression Tips

Increase the distance of each leap, add a pause on each landing, hold a light weight for added resistance.

Regression Tips

Reduce the distance of the leap, perform the movement slowly, use a support for balance assistance.

Safety Notes

Perform on a non-slip surface. Maintain control throughout the movement. Stop if you experience knee or ankle pain.
