Technique

Stand facing a sturdy box or platform. Step one foot onto the box, pressing through the heel to lift your body up. As you reach the top, drive the opposite knee upward toward your chest. Lower back down with control and repeat, alternating legs.

Starting Position

Stand tall facing a box or platform, feet hip-width apart, arms at your sides.

Finishing Position

One foot planted firmly on the box, opposite knee driven up toward the chest, torso upright, and balance maintained.

Form Cues

Drive through the heel, keep your chest up, engage your core, control the descent, use a powerful knee drive

Common Mistakes

Pushing off the trailing leg, letting the knee cave inward, losing balance at the top, using momentum instead of strength

Progression Tips

Increase box height, add dumbbells for resistance, perform the movement explosively for power development.

Regression Tips

Use a lower box, reduce the knee drive, hold onto a support for balance assistance.

Safety Notes

Ensure the box is stable and non-slip. Step down with control to avoid impact injuries. Stop if you experience knee or ankle pain.
